1940s Mario, Angel Mario, Maid Mario, And More Unearthed In Official Super Mario Odyssey Artbook

Last week, the release of the first official Super Mario Odyssey, The Art of Super Mario Odyssey, revealed the existence of scrapped plans to bring Princess Bowser and Rosalina into the game.

Today we’ve received even more pictures of what appears to be unused costumes in Super Mario Odyssey. There are many interesting costumes so let’s take a look:

First up are knight and angel costumes for Mario. Doesn’t Mario resemble Pit from Kid Icarus: Uprising?

There were even plans for a maid costume!

Here’s a very interesting one – 1940s Mario based on the cartoons of that era.

Here’s Witch Mario:

Other scrapped costumes include Modern Pilot Mario, Toad Mario, Native American Mario, Viking Mario, and more:

There’s even Bowser Jr. Mario, Panda Mario, and Madame Broode Mario:
