Last week, Nintendo showed off the Super Crown – a power-up in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe that changes Toadette into a Peach look-alike.
Fans were initially amused at the concept, and speculated about how it worked. However, some artists also started exploring what would happen if other characters used a Super Crown.
Eventually, Twitter user @ayyk92 played around with the idea of Bowser using a Super Crown – with interesting results.
Since then, this ‘Bowser Peach’ (also nicknamed ‘Bowsette’) has gained quite a number of fans. Artists like Matt Froese and @Spaicy_Chicross have devoted time to draw the feminized Koopa king in their own art styles:
It’s anyone’s guess how Nintendo feels about this accidental internet trend right now. Maybe they also find it hilarious and entertaining.
