MariCAR Trademarks “Unrelated To Nintendo” In Japan
Mari Mobility, previously known as MariCAR, has registered two trademarks in Japan. Mari Mobility is a company infamous for renting out their Mario style go-karts to tourists in Tokyo, and they were sued by Nintendo last year.
The two trademarks are “Unrelated to Nintendo” in both English and Japanese, which you can see below:
The trademarks were registered in order to use them on the company’s go-karts, possibly being used as a measure to distance the company away from Nintendo. Customers of Mari Mobility could still be seen wearing Mario and Luigi inspired costumes, though. Mari Mobility continues to operate in Japan despite losing their lawsuit to Nintendo.
