Nintendo has released a new animated short online.
The short is titled “Close To You”, and follows a baby who experiences strange phenomena after being left alone in her room by her mother, namely watching her toys being moved around by an unseen force. It is a cute video, but at the time of this writing Nintendo has not provided any further information or context about it.
That said, fans believe that the video might be related to the Pikmin series. This is mainly because at around the 3:13 mark in the video, a music cue plays that sound similar to a slowed down version of the Pikmin 1 theme from Pikmin 4’s OST. Nintendo has produced animated shorts about Pikmin in the past, so its not too much of a stretch. Alternatively, this could be a stealth ad for Nintendo Pictures, the company’s animation studio.
