Along with the Marvel Knights Paid DLC pack, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order received a free update adding a number of new costumes and adjustments to the game.
Among these adjustments were changes to the game’s character select screen, which added an entire row of character slots to the arrangement. The new row contains 13 character slots in total, including the four DLC characters that were recently released. Leaving those four aside, this means that we can expect at least 9 more characters to be added to the game as DLC.
Naturally, eagle-eyed fans have already noticed an interesting detail about the number of blank character slots added in the update. Assuming that the row is for Paid DLC characters only, and all the announced DLCs consist of four characters only, that leaves one slot unaccounted for in the plan:
At this time, the most common theory is that the extra slot belongs to none other than the fan favorite Marvel villain Dr.Doom, archnemesis to the Fantastic Four. Notably, Dr. Doom was the main villain of the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance game, and would fit nicely into the third DLC pack as the main antagonist.
That said, this is all just speculation, and we caution our readers not to get too excited about unconfirmed information. We will be sure to bring the latest official news from Nintendo and Marvel Games about Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3‘s DLC as it comes.
