The Super Mario Bros. Movie has crossed another massive milestone during its time in theaters.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Super Mario Bros. Movie has crossed $1.248 billion in earnings worldwide, beating out The Incredibles 2 to become the third highest grossing animated movie of all time. This leaves only two more films to beat before the Super Mario Bros. Movie can reach the top: Frozen 1 at $1.276 billion, and Frozen 2 at 1.45 billion.
Although surpassing Frozen 1 might be possible, we may not get to see the movie beat Frozen 2’s record. The Super Mario Bros. Movie has already made its way online digitally, and this will likely contribute to declining box office sales over time. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
