Earlier this year, Nintendo confirmed that the Legend Of Zelda live-action movie was set to premier on May 27th 2027.
Although that date is still quite far away, filming for the movie has reportedly already begun. This comes from a listing on Production List, which states that filming is being done in New Zealand from November 4th, 2025 to April 7th, 2026. Wellington, New Zealand is known to have been the filming location for a number of fantasy films, including Avatar, The Lord of the Rings, and King Kong.
The listing also reiterates the broad plot summary of the film as follows:
A live-action adaptation of the video game franchise. ‘The Legend of Zelda’ follows Link, a young warrior destined to protect the magical kingdom of Hyrule from the forces of darkness. The land is under threat from Ganon, a ruthless warlord who seeks the Triforce—an ancient relic said to grant limitless power. To stop him, Link must embark on a perilous journey, battling monstrous creatures, exploring treacherous dungeons, and solving intricate puzzles to uncover sacred artifacts that can aid him in his quest.
